oh, c.r.a.p.

i'm addicted to yahoo auctions. again.

oh no... i need help.

they have too many pretty dresses online. it's unhealthy!!

*glum*

i really need to get down to studying...

i'm peering at my hands right now!

ok before i get into the actual post as to WHY i'm peering at my hands, i'd just like to say...

i saw Friday (a cat), Thursday (another cat), a kitten suspected to be Friday's and a pure black cat (sleek fur, fat cat). all in melville.

i'm soooooo happy!

--------------------------------------------------

drummerboy was telling me about how he's been receiving gold dust at his new church. so amazing!! his youngest bro was the first to receive it. then his gf (whom i miss and love), then him!!!

so cool can!!!!

i want gold dust too. *checks me hands*

(i kinda look idiotic right now, but it's fine coz i'm alone. heh heh.)

my flood

(this post is 2 days late)

i finally have results!!! and they're so pretty i can't believe it!

even my prof said they'll look really good on my thesis. hee!

*excitable*

FINALLY. after 3 months of torrentous rain, the clouds are finally beginning to clear and the rain is receding. it may pour again, but hopefully i'll learn from this. (and not give up and get depressed and start having silly ideas of throwing in the towel and going off to be a JC teacher.)

dear Farty, i get your blog post. yes, i have acted like a sullen child after the presentation but THANK YOU!! for being a pillar of hope (not salt, haha) and you were so patient with me! thank you, thank you, thank you. i really thank God for you. if we ever have to fight for a job (since we're trained in the same areas), i will gladly give it to you.

or u can go become a motivational speaker. coz your pep talks rock. er, just don't come and tell me about the 9 steps to become a winner, not a loser. you know what i mean. hahahaha.

yes, many Bible references here. and my flood is in reference to Noah's Ark, which we did at cell yesterday. good stuff, i say! :D

one social experiment for three, please.

it was... okay. the nervousness spewed out of me like a geyser - i couldn't stop talking.

but it was okay. (from my point of view)

----------------------------------------------------------

oh yes, as promised, here's me with emmanuel:

i was rather excited. i love holding him, though i get kinda freaked at the same time coz he's so small and fragile.

but wow, the feeling of holding a newborn in your arms?

it's... incredible.

i finally have free time!!

you know, in the past 4 months, i've learnt something.

TIME MANAGEMENT.

however, applying it seems to be the hard part.

-----------------------------------------------------

anyway, i've had my honours project presentation (part I) , and i found out one thing about myself - i suck at presentations, i get serious stage fright, and once i lose my head, i speak in only one language...

gibberish.

yeah, as you can tell, my presentation went straight to the dogs. i may get kicked out of the project coz my prof now has proof that i know nothing at all!

ah well, i'm feeling resigned. it's all in God's hands. and if this project is taken from me, so be it.

i am secure!!

*grin*

-----------------------------------------------------------------

thank God for the weekend to unwind.

as usual, it's the time of the year when it's both flabby and daddy's birthday.

(i need your pictures, furple!!)

we headed down to the Copthorne Waterfront for the weekend on saturday. the plan was to swim before the others arrived but... we got lazy.

so most of the time we were just sitting around the room, playing card games, watching a lot of HBO (entourage!!! yay!), and downing white wine (omg good stuff), vodka mandarins and sips of choya (blehhh *wrinkly face*).

and we had this snack - Table Water. everyone was like 'oh it's so good! so nice!'

i thought it tasted like sawdust. yucks. i had to force myself to finish the whole thing. it's like eating flour. or plain biscuit without the flavouring. um, baked flour. *shudder*

don't come and tell me it's an acquired taste.

well, so there was loads of drinking and laughing over Taboo (beavis and buttcrack!) until it was 1230am and we decided to actually do something that was planned on our original itinerary - go clubbing!

flirt decided not to go, so the rest of us girls went to change.

i brought my off-shoulder black top. from mango.

furple came out of the bathroom wearing her off-shoulder black top.

i started laughing.

then, flirt emerged from the bathroom wearing her off-shoulder black top, which was also from mango (but different cutting and material though).

i laughed even harder.

WHAT ARE THE ODDS MAN??? hahahahahahaha

i wanted a picture taken, but they were all quite grumpy about the fashion faux pas. and it was flirt's birthday so i had to change into something else. thank goodness i had a spare top.

hehehehehe.

we went down to butter factory, which is apparently owned by coco latte's former owners.

the music was good! good radio friendly rnb and hiphop. they played old school!! yay!!!! (jump around!)

we left early though. i'm so gonna go back there... someday. *reality hits* maybe after i graduate. T_T

ugh, apparently i was snoring. damn tired la!

--------------------------------------------------------------

the next day it was daddy's turn. said bye to the girls and hopped down to town to meet my family.

we went to waraku for lunch!

good stuff. and value for money too! it was only $60 for all 4 of us.

i really miss spending time with my family. i wake up after everyone's left for work/camp, and get home after everyone's asleep. or sometimes i just stay in school.

sigh. this is probably why i won't really be that unhappy if this project's taken away. or if i never make it as a researcher. the time commitment is too high, and the fact that i haven't gotten any results is pretty much the downer.

oh well, we'll see how.

----------------------------------------------------

alrighty! shall not mope. i'm going swimming! and then off to another birthday party... for 2 people! so fun. :D

i'm sapped.

got lots to update, like the birth of emmanuel (i carried him!! and he's all of 5 days old!), and the failure of my experiment again, and again and again, and repeating it again, and again, and again...

well, i'm feeling lazy, so...
LINK! to farty's blog.

p.s. oi, i didn't know you just wanted to blow your nose lor. taking away your tissue paper is probably the closest sort of revenge after the major heebie-jeebies you gave me in the culture room.

just walk a little louder next time will you?? i don't wanna have to scream in shock everytime you suddenly appear behind me or when u pat me on the shoulder to pray for me.

thanks for the prayer, but no thanks for the massive heart attack. -__-

a day at the lab (boohoo)

(this will be a photo blog)

evidence that farty passed the flu to me FIRST. and then i fall sick for a month!

just look at the time! and i'm still in lab. (fyi, it's 3:16am)

the view from my lab: ooh it's all cloudy...

going to get instant noodles? hold on... ok! this way! *points with hair*

we start seeing weird messages of doom outside the chem department.

farty also begins to see the occasional furry ginger cat, and at old airport road, no less.

we're leaving school early! but i'm so used to the gloom i can hardly open my eyes... *squint*

and off i go to buy me a pair of jeans... online! (no time to shop la.)

oh, joy.

i've finally got a free day coz i'm running a 48 hour experiment, and guess what?

i'm stuck at home with the cramps and peeling skin. yes, it's still peeling. (peel! banana! peel, peel! banana!)

as farty says, i'm literally falling apart.

anyways, will try to do some work while waiting for my skin to regenerate.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

my dad's stuck at the AGM of Changi Rise right now. AGM... that's a nice way of calling it. what it really means is the annual haggling of maintenance fees.

my mum was dishing the dirt on the AGM - she got really bored coz it was all in english, and i think most of the ladies left the men behind to fight the case. if the AGM was held in mandarin, i have NO DOUBT my mum will have loads to say.

(oh and i was sleeping like a pig till 1030am so i had no idea where my parents were till i started getting hungry. and until my mum came home. haha.)

anyways, we just found out that a large bit of the maintenance fees goes to security.

guess how much.

$250,000!!!!!!!

they're insane! and Changi Rise's security sucks big time coz of the high number of thefts. and especially with my brother's incident, where they were supposed to get back to us... but guess what?? THEY NEVER DID!

i highly suspect it was an inside job, and my brother's stuff were pilfered by a part-time security officer. that's why they 'forgot' to show us footage. the security is useless. and the security cameras are useless too.

argh, so angry.

but apparently the occupants are just as peeved so i guess the fact that the meeting's still going on is good.

results of the meeting will be updated when my dad gets home.

pieces of me.

my skin is really burnt -

it's flaking off in dirty brown HUGE-ASS pieces the size of your... erm, thumb.

heh. i tried giving them away but no one wants some!

collapsing!

stolen from gep boy #2's blog:

"How many science videos have you seen in primary school class with American, lab-coated men sucking from ginormous tanks of helium? Obviously Alvin, Vivien and I have seen enough and there's nothing better than seeing what a balloon from a BMW road show can do to your voice on the spot. Vivien just simply didn't get the air in, I didn't exhale completely enough before inhaling to be able to muster a strong effect but ALVIN. The master of quirky habits and crazy do-es ACES the helium experience COMPLETELY. Just hearing his voice alone was, worth the time. Really."

i suck. or maybe not.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

yay, decided to change my font.

i am a very sick girl right now. i just came back from the Leader's Retreat - spending one whole day in the SUN at sentosa building sandcastles did not treat me well.

i now have a completely red half-back, arms, and 3/4 thighs.

oh, the pain. when i got home, mum was all fussing over me (XD!! she made me herbal tea! *xing fu*) ... then she saw my burn.

"AIYOH!!! SIOW LIAO AH, NI??!!"

and proceeded to yank the collar of my shirt to peer at the horrendous situation on the back of my neck... and scratch/abrase/FRICTION!!!! OHHH THE FRICTION

*weep*

i whined then. and i will whine some more.

i think i've got a fever now, but no one around me could tell if the heat coming off me was through the burnt skin (i think it might've been steaming) or was i having an actual fever.

alas, i couldn't take it anymore and decided to go home from tampines safra where we were having a buffet dinner.

one thing about being sick? everything is tasteless, regardless of whether you're having bitter herbal tea, or a $26 buffet.

THEY HAD SASHIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII.

T_T

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

alright enough whining.

i felt like i missed a huge portion of spending time with God and listening to Him. at the last Leader's Retreat, i heard Him loud and clear... and i was hoping to hear Him again, so i'd have some guidance in my life. i feel like i'm just running in circles, sometimes.

well, i felt Him, definitely. EVERYTIME i finish a camp, i feel really spiritually-filled. i think i heard Him tell me something (?) but i need to meditate on it. coz it doesn't seem to relate directly to my question.

oh well, in His time. :)

'eh??'
