food post!!!
after catching the bridge to terabithia (it made me cry. T_T) i was walking around Great World City with alvin, and both of us were feeling ravenous... when alvin suggested ben and jerry's.
we walked over, and one of their cheesecakes caught my eye. suddenly developing a craving for cheesecake, we decided to go to the first floor in search of starbucks (i love their cheesecake; it's so thick and creamy and has that slight sour tangy flavour. *sigh*)
instead, what we found was: there is no starbucks, only coffee bean. but on the flipside, there was an eatery that specialized in cheesecakes, called 'SayCheeseCake'. drawn by their scrumptious display, we stood at their display counter for awhile before being pulled towards one of their tables by some unseen cheesecake force. we were like zombies, man.
i stared at the menu for awhile. i opted for the rocky road at first (THE DISPLAY PIC HAD TONS OF 'ICKLE MARSHMALLOWS SQUASHED ON THE TOP OF IT!!! HOW TO RESIST???) because i was still lusting for ben and jerry's marshmallow ice cream... wait, do they even have a marshmallow variant??? i must've gotten my flavors mixed up. *fuddled*
anyways, they didn't have rocky road, so i picked the original new york cheesecake, which made alvin point fingers at me and call me a purist. pfffft. he had the treblo chocolate (which made no sense to me since u might as well have a chocolate cake instead. blehhh!!)
ok. it's like, $6 bucks plus for one small slice. it's not incredibly small, it's just... a wedge of it. so anyways, i tried alvin's one first (teehee) and it was, well, essentially a chocolate cake. where got cheese???? but it was still good la. *smacks lips*
alvin tried mine. his face changed and he exclaimed, 'wow this is authentic.' and gave an orgasmic look.
my eyebrows shot up when i tried mine. IT WAS HEAVENLY. ok, i loved it, but if u go there and you don't think it's much of a big deal, please remember... everybody has different tastebuds and preferences.
and then they had this sauce that was patterned next to the cake, and it was lemony!! so it allowed me to choose how tangy i wanted each bite to be. as mentioned by my date, 'it added dimension to it'.
i am definitely going back there. maybe for my birthday plans with the girls. XD
----------------
after the cheesecake, i was beginning to feel full (yeah my appetite has shrunken since thailand... too much phad thai!!! ugh.) so we walked it off, all the way from great world to liang court, to meet xinwei and go try tampopo, supposedly famous for their ramen.
fast forward 2 hours later, the ramen is nothing to yell about, so i shan't waste time posting much. but it was super fun meeting xinwei; she laughed till she got mild heart burn, and i had a queasy tummy after all the jokes she made.
----------------
i'm working for her this saturday! oh man, it's tmr!! better start packing my bags coz it's in bintan. i'm sorry, aribin, u have to face del and dennis' 12 alone. sans partner. don't let aileen bully u ok?
and i'll be wearing my cocktail dress!!! hahahahahhaa finally. i knew it wouldn't be a waste of money to get something pretty just in case. yay!
----------------
i'm now waiting for developments, whether i should wait and attempt to cook pasta (aglio olio, no less) with my handy cooking assistant (he cook, i film him and hence irritate the crap out of him), cook instant noodles alone (T_T), or call chutney chicks for a lunch emergency.
when u're hungry, who should u call??
