i heart navy walls. and the ikea catalogue.
navy walls:
this patch of turquoise wall is really pretty too.
and i guess i don't hate wallpaper, i just don't like how all the interior designers give you a 'template' which all include:
1. feature mirror
2. feature wall
3. tv console
4. wallpaper
...
ok, ok wait. there is nothing wrong with that too. the new place will most likely have all these as well. it's not wrong.
sigh.
it's just that all these 'designers' give the same victorian wallpaper/laminates/positioning of mirrors and the same cookie-cutter concept of
MODERN CONTEMPORARY.
i have learnt to associate that word to cold looking rooms, hardness, patent blacks and whites, the occasional (and blinding) vermillion, and mirrors.
oh, and chandeliers.
ick. why why WHY is there no originality??!?!
you know, that's why alvin and i have taken so long just to find someone we can trust to design a home. (er, and also because i can't decide on a theme... it has ranged from country, vintage, retro and even a sea themed home... which doesn't look too bad here:

our latest and most trusted designer has finally replied after some time. her summary to the concept?
'your house will turn out cute.'
i laughed my head off when i heard it. alvin's intrigued/worried while i'm all impressed coz she saw right through me! i wonder if she will take kindly to navy walls. her wallpaper's nice though, because she wallpapers with fabrics and textures, not just print.
i can't wait till we see her tomorrow.
well... *shrug* if everything doesn't work out then we'll do everything on our own - buy our own furniture and hire a contractor for a feature wall + balcony tiles + painting.

you know, i really love the design style for australian houses. somehow they just have this rustic charm to them, with wicker furniture and beautiful white pieces of furniture. i love white furniture. mmm.
well, too bad about the choices available in singapore though. hmph.
back to the ikea catalogue!!
white furniture!!
navy walls and french windows. omgah!!
i think... i would love a colored room (and so would alvin)... with nice clean lines...
and white furniture with french accents! (?)
hmm. ok will ask the designer tomorrow. and alvin's mom.
ahhh that's the problem with too many ideas. *flops*
hahahah loving this post!!! i agree navy walls and white bay windows look AWESOME.
sigh..house hunting is poo and a half.
God will provide hehehe :D for all of us!!! YAAAY! :D
