celebrating my 26th birthday with alvin
yes. it's about 2 months late. hurhur.
but a food post is always welcome, non?
here we are at pasta brava, tanjong pagar - it's a really pretty place. i love how gorgeous its interior is:
ornate mirrors! please ignore the dead fish face. i was getting ravenous.
i love how the bread was swathed in cloth:
hello, handsome boy.
this is the picture i submitted to Foodster. and got chosen! more details in october.
an appetizer made with eggplant and rocket - VERY GOOD.
the best bruschetta i've ever had in my life:
my tomato soup which was a tad too tangy. *shudder*
alvin's seafood soup which was loads better:
i think i can't take too much tomato at one go - bruschetta, rocket+eggplant+tomato, tomato soup...
and then my main dish, which was tomato based again. ugh.
but the handmade ravioli was really, really good.
(this is making me hungry.)
tucking in quickly!
alvin's - his stuffing was less mushy... it had ham i think?
although the serving LOOKS small, i was stuffed (pun not intended) by the time i cleared my main course. but their tiramisu and panna cotta were famous, so we had to try it.
i think i was too greedy. :(
tiramisu - wah the chocolate powder was good stuff coz it was really bitter and stuck to your lips, roof of your mouth, everywhere it touched. but i thought the taste was a little jarring. i didn't love it.
panna cotta - i took one mouthful and swallowed it with a grimace... 'TOO MILKY! BLEH BLEH!' needless to say, i had no love for this as well.
BLEH MILK BLEH!!!!!!!!!!! *shudders*
in the end alvin ate everything. i'm sorry for making u fat, dear. :(
which one do you prefer? it's hard for alvin to pick which one to eat first, because he likes to end with the tastier option.
i don't know!! :(
ok i'm done.
he ended with the panna cotta!
all in all, it was still a pretty good dinner. nice ambience, attentive waiters, great company, good food with a reasonable price.
pass!
and then as we walked towards the mrt station, i saw a cat rubbing itself against a motorbike. i called to it; it turned around... and i was mesmerized.
'ALVIN!! LOOK AT ITS EYES!!!'
it took us forever just to get a close-up picture of its eyes in full rounded glory. it's so pretty. :)
i love green eyes!
and that concluded our dinner date, after searching out a toilet for me to wash my hands. :P
---
by the way, have i mentioned that the interior designer we're currently consulting has a beautiful 9 month old Brit shorthair?
say hello to Duke Ashley!
GAH I'M SO SORRY!! I FORGOT TO TURN OFF THE FLASH.
he loves sniffing around my black bag, hence rubbing his grey/white fur all over in clumps. but he's so adorable so everything is forgiven!
something piqued your interest? i love his large golden eyes. :)
he has such cute stripes on his front limbs... they connect when he sits down with his paws stretched out like a sphinx.
his tail is one fat bottle brush.
1, 2, 3... awwwwww...
(he pounced into my camera right after this shot)
alvin can't help but sayang Ashley everytime he's within an arm's length. neither can alvin's mom.
the image of both of them tapping on each of Ashley's paws is an image i'll never forget. hehehe.
PAWS!
