the non-existent generation gap

i was just giving tuition to my sec 4 boy 2 hours ago when we got to a question that stumped me for a mo'.

being me, and part of aileen's cell group tradition, i broke into song:

"为什么? 为什么?

为什么???!!!!~~"

while i was singing the song, i had an urge to ask my kid whether he knew the song too! but a quick mental calculation (and i am quite fast okay) had me realize that he's almost 10 years younger than me, so i just glanced at him, and almost asked, then decided to continue humming to myself.

he suddenly brightened up and said,

"HEY I HAVE THAT SONG!!"

i kena stunned.

but i got over it quickly. i started getting all excited and hence got him to play it, and while he tinkered with his handphone, i told him that i was just thinking about asking him if he knew the song or not. i couldn't stop laughing at the whole situation while he said,

'yar! it's damn funny la!! i loved that show... i watched it when i was in K1!'

wah liao... i think i was in primary school lor. sian.

wow i haven't blogged in more than 2 weeks!

and it's not because i've been working my ass off...

it's more due to

1. watching taiwanese dramas
(thanks to chuuling!!! grr.)

2. erm, messing around with facebook
((fluff)friends, trivia... trivia... MORE trivia... and taunting lennel at the music challenge, heh heh; superpoke, vampire attacks, food fights etc. wah liao... i am sibei bo-liao. D: )

3. catching up with Heroes and How I Met Your Mother

4. and pretty much having birthday celebrations and doing fun stuff for 2 weeks straight (KTV, free salsa classes, watching dance auditions, and movies! and having great food!! XD)

it's insanity!! and i have loads to update (it's for my own keeping too) so i'll split them all up into separate posts.

i want to be beautiful.

struck with psychomotor

yesterday's reggae class was quite something.

the instructor taught us this new move that i took quite a while to get... because i had incredible psychomotor skillz (i thinks i is seeing too much lolcat, lol).

anyway! know what i did??

when i had to step out my left leg, i stuck out my left hand. like one of those russian military soldiers marching, u know? i looked so retarded!!

and then when the natural reaction when u kick out your right leg is to shift your weight to your left side... i couldn't! i kept landing on my right side!!! argh!!! so when the class was facing one direction, i was totally gabrah and swinging myself facing the OTHER SIDE!!

and then... and then... that aileen lam wanli.

*sigh* ok when there's some complicated move, the instructor will break it down into parts. so this time we were just practicing something akin to walking on the spot while moving our hands like we were pasting it on a mirror and dragging it down.

while we were all concentrating in learning how to do that step with aplomb, i made the mistake of turning to see how aileen was doing.

i caught her eye...

she mouthed, 'hamster wheel.'

i burst out in a fit of giggles and it was sooo bad i had to squat down and try to muffle my laughter but shuddering like a duracell bunny.

OMG ZHA BOR!!!

don't think the instructor was very happy. :p

but it was still a damn good class minus all the mishaps, coz it was speedy and we learnt many things!!

and especially after all the loose limbs and russian marching, the feeling of finally doing everything properly (wah still got time to add my own flavour to it leh, heh-heh) was quite a rush.

hence, still quite high today. my bum's not aching yet! good sign, no?

oh, i felt tremors at late 7am this morning. the entire workbench was shaking... wah, quite scary man.

hmm... wanted to say something, but i guess my brain has just turned into mush after getting up at 5am only to reach school and realize i can't start my experiment yet.

omg, i need to rest.

alvin and i were surfing youtube for videos on house dancing showcases when one thing led to another, and we found out that...

our hiphop instructor won the Overdrive competition. yes, the one with Wade Robson judging.

i mean, it's not that he's not zai (coz he is damn zai man, wah liao.)... butbut, he's so humble. and nice.

O_O

and we also checked out dance videos and felt very small.

yosh!! time to practice!!!
