after supper with the cell last night, i came home all tired and intending to do a bit of my lab proposal... when nel suggested ktv today.

of course, today being my last day of the hols, i promptly dropped all my work for a bit of fun.

we sang, we shouted, we did abit of drama, and some dancing.

my voice is gone now.

A HA HA HA HA HA!!!

was watching this episode of "happy sunday" (kuai le xin qi tian) with my mom last night while having dinner - nearly choked on my rice while laughing damn hard. *wheeze*

ok to give you a bit of background before you watch the vid:

Happy Sunday is recently having this segment where they get people to entertain (mostly singing, i think) and a panel of 3 judges will critique. thing is, these people have already made their mark in the entertainment world... they're either singers, actors, hosts etc.

i don't like this segment and i normally don't watch it because the judges don't mince their words, and it can get really ugly, especially when u see confident entertainers being torn down.

oh, the tears, the ugly screaming, the scowls.

anyway, this episode had these 2 male models coming up to do a bit of singing first.

they bombed. can't hold a tune for nuts.

then, they'd prepared another item - they were going to do an imitation... of an old performance done by 2 of the judges (who happen to be brothers).

check out one of the judges' scowls man. he was pretty peeved. and the dance moves totally seared my eyes. 80's dancing is... so...

The Big Bump

i brought my kids to the playground today because i had NO IDEA what to play for games, so i just decided they should be allowed to run around instead of being cramped up in a small room.

the playground is a booby trap i tell ya.

we were playing this game called 'crocodile', and i was trying to squeal and run away from 'it' when i did a quick turn and tried to crawl as quickly as possible into one of those plastic tunnels.

instead, i moved so quickly i didn't see it... and bashed my head into the plastic rim of the tunnel's opening.

**STARS**

my glasses fell off my nose and somehow the pair of nose rests landed in my nostrils. (no, i'm not kidding you.) i kept touching my head to feel if there was blood - i rammed into the rim that hard.

i just rolled into a ball, clutching my head while still on all fours, and that was how the kids found me 5 seconds later.

wow, their concern was amazing... but i could've mistaken it coz of all the 'wow, the lump is HUGE! eh everyone come and see!! so disgusting!!'

those sweet, sweet children.

yeah, but they were really cute about it. all the remedies of using ice and boiled eggs started spouting out of their mouths, and those who were no strangers to 'bah lu ku's were all talking, while nodding their head in a jaded fashion.

i've never hit my head this hard. the lump is now the size of a small egg, and somewhere at the side of it is a small dent tinted purple.

... i think i shall stay home with a boiled egg attached to my forehead on repeat rub-mode tomorrow. oww.

we went to meet the prof to talk over the project today. it was my first time in his office... I LOVE HIS OFFICE!! he ushered us in first, while he was going over some admin stuff outside his room.

once the door closed, there were exclaimations over:
1) a Harry Potter poster photoshopped to include all the dept of microbiology profs as cast members (hahaha)
2) similarly photoshopped posters of Star Wars II & III
3) a shelf full of various Star Wars figurines and other geek-boy stuff (this was painfully brought to my attention by the frantic tapping on my arm by geek-boy #2 next to me)
4) a huge R2-D2 figurine on my left (also brought to my attention by another round of frantic tapping and hyperventilation by geek-boy #2)

ok yes, i was pretty excited too. STAR WARS LEH!! R2 LEH!!!

there was a curious button on R2's belly. it wrote: 'demo'.

geek-boy #2: eh try la.

me: dowan la! later he come in how?? anyway, that button can press meh.

(starts feeling around R2's belly)

me (exclaims): oh yah! can press!!

geek-boy #2 (with a gleam in his eye): press la... try la...

me: hurhur. ok lor. *press*

i think my prof heard everything - he was just outside the door. but the R2 was so cute!! i... couldn't... resist...

conclusion: my prof's office = geek/fan-boy-dom.

after cell, a certain brother-in-Christ of mine was a few steps behind aileen and i. suddenly aileen turned to me and tapped my arm frantically while trying to run ahead/totter forward in her heels. i knew what she was up to, so the 2 of us started to run... until we found a corner and hid behind it. (i couldn't stop giggling)

we saw his shadow approach... then we saw him and his back was facing us!! perfect opportunity.

"BOOO!!!!!"

he started, jumped a full semi-circle to face us, with a really scared look on his face.

i couldn't stop laughing for about 5 min.

road trip! (sort of la.)

yay, i finally have time to sit down and write.

the JB trip was so GOOD. first of all, it's my first time there so i was being pretty suaku and rather excitable over the whole trip and all 'wow-we're-out-of-singapore' bright-eyed-ness. i loved it. and the trip over the causeway was so short, i missed it.

'huh? what? we passed the causeway already?? daaaamn.'

so it was just nel, grid and i for the first part of the day. strode into city square... and the first stop was F.O.S.! except that there was nothing to buy; it wasn't exactly cheap. so we continued down the stairs... lo, and behold!!

SALE!!!!!!

yes, everything was on sale at the Padini concept store... and it's a whopping 50-70% off. all 3 of us bought the same pair of red heels - it's only $12+ in sg dollars!! then we went on, got a few other tops and stuff (all soooo cheap; it's mad!). we couldn't stop exclaiming stuff like: 'argh!!! sale!!! vincci!!!!' or 'arghh!!! they have ebase!!! sale!!' and 'THEIR CAKES ARE SO CHEAP!!!'

i loved it. we ate SO MUCH. had stop-overs at secret recipe, all the small stalls lining the place, some dessert stall, and after ALL the food, guess what we found?

a thai massage parlour.

by that time aileen had joined us already, and the girls paid for my half-body massage... so we all went for it.

and wah piang eh, damn pain la.

i staggered out of the room after the back-breaking session. i guess you really ought to go to thailand for a thai massage. ah well. try mah, it was my first time heehee. it was fun though; i had no idea i was that flexible.

then after we all survived the massage, aileen and grid's pal, louis, who was a JB-ian came along in his jeep and drove us around to have seafood... $15 sg for:

1. 3 crabs
2. stingray
3. sugarcane juice
4. lala
5. hotplate tofu
6. sambal kangkong
7. i think there was more but i can't seem to remember... *shrug*

happiness!! so much food!! but i think i've got to start to detox for about 2 weeks after all the food tours (east, chinatown and jb). bleurrrggghhh.

after dinner they wanted some ice-cream (not me, i was STUFFED.) so we headed down to Jusco, which is apparently a hypermart like carrefour/giant. thing was, we had no idea it was so far away. it was a fun trip there though, coz we kept going: 'are we there yet?' and aileen was a ball of laughter - i almost puked coz the food was up to my throat while laughing non-stop.

aileen: wow, they have 'Harris'!!

louis (impressed): eh? you know about 'Harris' ah??

aileen: huh? er, no... got the sign on the building ma.

all of us: ??!!?!?!?!??!?!!!

(Harris is like sg's Popular... so i heard la.)

by the time we walked through Jusco and had our Snow Ice, it was 11pm. so we rushed back to sg, just in time to catch our merts and go home.

by the way, the bus ride across the causway is only 80cents! and back home was only 80cents RM!!!!

i wanna go back again.

this week has been goooood! i've done quite a lot of stuff (though none of them from the to-do list), making me one happy birdie. :)

starting from sunday, i received a 'zhao cai mao - bu dao wung' all the way from narita airport! it's freaking funny to watch, the way it rollie-pollies around the table with its right paw upright. hehehe. i couldn't stop laughing!

then i went for dinner with the gep boys to plan for the 'according-to-makansutra' food tour... and was joined at dinner by an unexpected guest! i was kinda out of my skin for a bit, expecting a lot of animosity and general unfriendliness. but then, us being girls and thus upfront about our problems, we talked about it instead of sweeping it under the carpet (like some guys do *sigh*) and wow, was my mind changed about her ever since. for the BETTER of course. :)

it just made me wonder through the night, why didn't we talk about this earlier? well, of course it didn't help that i never knew she wanted to get to know me, plus all the miscommunication going on between us due to the lousiest messenger ever. *shrug* i'm just really glad that everything's pretty much settled, and i've got her number in case i need to double confirm anything. XD

SO I HAVE A NEW FRIEND!! yippee! and she's great to talk to. i can't believe how everything seemed so icy just a while back. that day, our conversation was just flowing along fine. WOW. *gladness*

anyways, the next day we had the food tour which was covered in the previous post, then on tuesday... i think i slacked, can't really remember. hmm. sometimes a hole in your memory's best not explored.

so! wednesday it was 'laptop reformatting day'. ok maybe it was 'laptop reformatting day+night'. it took so very long just to re-install all the important programs back. yikes.

and yesterday, it was Food Trail (Chinatown)!!! the food list was INSANE. we had almost triple of what we had on Food Trail (East). same thing, we went to 3 places but woah, it was an exhaustive search of all the good food they had there. so we ate and ate and ate... and ate. i'm still feeling lazy, so i guess i'll just follow everyone else and wait for alanna to blog about it then link there. heh.

again same thing, we went to settler's... and played transamerica, cranium... and settlers! hehehehe. i like settlers, though i played a REALLY bad game. but it was fun to try to strategize. heh.

well, just before the end of the Food Trail bob started to develop a headache and feel sick, while alvin had the beginnings of the runs. but us girls were fine though. hmm. we ended at tai hwa BAK CHOR MEE!! best ever. *drool* then we split ways and alvin had diarrhea, so had to be rushed home in a cab.

oh, i suddenly met mel at tai hwa with desmond and don and don's mom. then i found out she's going off to KL today... with er, someone.

wow, small world.

ok, guess this post may not make sense to a few of u. my apologies, but my vocab, as i found out yesterday, is obviously not as consistent as it used to be. bah.

and guess what? food trail continues on tomorrow!!!! but this time, it's with different people and a different country... I'M A-GOING TO JB, BABYYYY~!!

woah, i really need to get a move on in this area. coz adeline's going on holiday so i'm all alone for 2 weeks, handling 15 (?) kiddos. o_O

hello hello, ain't it marvellous weather to hide under the blankets and just snuggle?

alas, bloody alarm clock only allowed me to enjoy sleeping in the rain for a pathetic 30min. and it's up again for more (attempting to) study!

remember i was mentioning if i started early for this paper i might get an A? well, not very likely now! coz i'm one week past starting point. gahhhh. and i can't seem to get down to memorizing. there's so much junk that it intimidates me.
